Paul Derby, SSPC Certified

Paul Derby recently completed the SSPC (Society of Protection Coatings) certification testing for Protective Coatings Specialist.  SSPC is an international association focusing on the protection and preservation of steel, concrete and other industrial and marine structures through the use of protective coatings.

Each coatings professional is evaluated on his mastery of coatings type, surface preparation, coatings application and inspection, contract planning/management, development of specifications and the economics of protective coatings.  We are exceptionally proud of Paul’s accomplishment in his certification and on passing this test on the first go-round, which is considered rare in the industry.  This speaks very highly of his knowledge and experience in the field of coatings and his abilities in problem-solving.

Paul Derby has been in the protective coatings industry for 24 years.  Work experience and education has given Paul knowledge and responsibility in methods and materials for repairs, restoration and protection of concrete structures, modified alsphals urethane coatings, as well as concrete and steel substrates.
