Georgia Construction Products (“GCP”) was formed in June,
1991. We are a specialized wholesale supplier of construction products
relating to masonry and concrete, thermal and moisture protection
and finishes (i.e. coatings, sealants), and firestopping. GCP began
with the purchase of a Thoro Products distributorship formerly held
by a precast concrete company. GCP began with four employees who set
up operation as a wholesale distributor in Lithonia, Georgia, with
$100,000 of inventory and one major product line, housed in a building
consisting of 7,000 square feet.
Currently in our 15th full year of operation, we are now located
in Tucker, Georgia, with over 47,000 square feet of warehouse space
and over 22 employees and a sales team with 130+ years of combined
experience in the field of construction and sales.

the “best interest of the customer comes first.”
Unlike most wholesale construction supply businesses, GCP is a specialized
operation. By putting together an experienced group of people with
a high level of specialized product knowledge, GCP has been able
to establish a unique niche in the marketplace. We are trained in
every product we sell which means we can assess not only the type
of product a job requires and provide direction, but also assist
in application. Using our experience and expertise, we focus on
the engineering, architectural, consulting and specifying communities
with seminars and training classes designed to provide education
on applications, problem-solving and new technology. These sessions
are not product-specific unless requested to do so. It is our intention
to provide this service to these communities in order to position
ourselves as industry experts.
We strive to establish a “partnership” with both our
customers and our suppliers. By becoming partners in their success,
we insure our own success. We maintain an ongoing relationship with
our customer long after the sale to insure a successful application.
Although we require our salesmen to be knowledgeable about all
our major product lines and customer types, we assign our salesmen
to a targeted customer group based on their specialized knowledge
of individual product lines.
Our sales staff is trained to be present at job sites to answer
questions the project manager may have during application. By interfacing
between the end-user and the manufacturer, we keep our customers
satisfied and confident in their selection of GCP. It means a lot
to our customers to know that our expertise is still available to
them after the sale. Over 90% of our sales are from repeat customers
and we feel confident this is a direct result of our “hands-on”
approach.
We also take a proactive approach in promoting our products by
providing educational seminars and field training to our customers
and their crews. Seminars and training are typically done in tandem
with our salesman who is most experienced in the products and systems
along with a representative of the manufacturer. We feel it is important
for the construction markets we service to know they have a team
of experts standing behind their product selection and application.
In addition to training, we provide our customers assistance during
the submittal process. Reviewing the project specifications, pulling
together the appropriate documents, samples and required testing
information gives our customers the advantage over their competition
with a professionally assembled submittal package.
